The
Alpha Kappa
Rho (AKRHO) is a fraternity/sorority
which exists to create a bridge between
all men and women who are committed to seek
the social advancement of under-represented
populations.
The organization was founded on August
8, 1973 at the University
of Santo Tomas, Manila,
Philippines. Official founding skeptrons
headed by the leadership of Brother Manuel
"BOY" Chua. The
organization was registered at the Philippine
Securities and Exchange Commission as a
non-profit and non-dividend corporation
was also the first humanitarian organization
to be chartered indepedent from it's mother
country.
In the same university, the organization
has also pioneered an Inter-Collegiate Brotherhood
and until now it is known to Philippine
Schools, Universities and Colleges as Alpha
Kappa Rho Inter-Collegiate Humanitarian
Service Fraternity and Sorority.
Alpha Kappa
Rho has also established
alumni chapters abroad (filipino communities)
promoting humanitarian brotherhood.
The Skeptron
Society has always been and always be an
organization steeped in the tradition of
the past and dedicated to the pursuit of
brotherhood and sisterhood. The organization
is made up of men and women from all cultures,
religious background and interests. It has
spread through out the archipelago and throughout
the world.

DONATION Given
the reality, the moment development
fully integrate across the community,
benefits become reality, coordinations
are more connected, interests are
more accessible, members are more
satisfied and obtained distant resources
are all but part of the valuable asset
in becoming more valuable to allocate
our short and longer term plans into
applicable perspective. In our own
little way, we are pleased to encourage
fellow Skeptrons to volunteer, participate,
work together and involve themselves
to any Community Projects and Programs.

SERVICE Since the
start of The Alpha Kappa Rho involvement
in Community Projects, our advocate
service has dramatically changed in
positive results. More Leaders and
more Members are now assistive as
part Public Servant. More participating
Skeptrons oversee what support our
Service to God and Country has gone
through.Personal emphaty are the solid
structure supports the prominince
of Alpha Kappa Rho. Forge by the incisive
competence, kindred sensibilities
of the various Skeptrons and having
close fraternal ties, the Alpha Kappa
Rho has achieved a sterling performance
in its field of Civic Projects.

THE HUNGRY The Alpha
Kappa Rho COMMUNITY PROJECTS have
been ongoing ever since. We have moved
with substantial achievements to integrate
key factors that will share our common
goals and to encourage Skeptrons to
various projects. Our gifted time
to any transition can be challenging
but these are the wonderful times
over the years to discover what is
in the inner core of the Brotherhood
that needs stimulus and deliver the
best.Our success is specially indebted
to our PIONEERS and all hardworking
Skeptrons from the Past to the Present.
They patiently shared their hopes
and dreams in transporting ahead of
our goals.

 AID
/ ASSISTANCE We believe
that there can be no meaningful democracy
where the majority of the people are
poor and weak. When people are hungry,
most specially children,they cannot
be truly free.Privileged few for some
and others, could shoulder the cost
of the average Filipinos' christmas
simply by displaying their best holiday
ornaments and lights. Imagine the
amazement of poor children in the
streets - children with no famous
godparents to go or huge gifts to
expect - if they can look around and
have the entire city as their christmas
treat. Let us not be skeptic or indifferent.

CAMPAIGN In the future,
all our effort in supporting Community
Involvement Programs are all but serving
the public trust. Skeptrons who continue
to volunteer and share vision of positivity
in stretching their helping hands
to the unfortunates are now part of
the AKP history. We may not have a
fat wallet in our pockets, be not
complacent. We can participate wholeheartedly
direct or indirect. By way of our
generous resources or ample contribution

 PLANT
A TREE Whilst at present,
the most common domestic problem in
some unfortunate communites is the
chronic widening sphere of hungry
streetchildren. The narrow but summative
similarity of poverty and hunger are
visibly tied together to a widespread
ratio of hunger atop the poverty."Feed
the hungry" Program is a result
of our observation and not something
to be avoided. Once a year, we do
believe nothing is important than
assisting an unfortunate community
as well as basic feeding of simple
edible necessities, simple gift letting,
simple social recreation on Holidays
and all but simple get together benefiting
some unfortunate families.

A GIFT The hardest
way is to fight aggresors. But the
easiest path is to build reputation
and character ; by way of down-to-earth
immersion thru reaching the poor and
the hungry.Since Alpha Kappa Rho was
founded, Skeptrons have met numerous
challenges, posed by adverse situations,
have been valuable learnings for the
Skeptrons. By our personalized good
humanitarian service, reaching the
less-privileged sector of Philippine
society, it provide us an enriching
experience. Skeptrons wit his God-given
intelligence, has the unique power
to formulate ideas, discover and invent
new things geared to make his everyday
life a lot easier and more comfortable.

BOOKS In this context,
" Feed the Hungry " is launched.
With this Socio-Program, benefiting
poor communities, Skeptrons are doing
fair service to mankind, specifically
to less-privilege class of Philippine
society. Alpha Kappa Rho and Skeptrons
alike, has thus far an enviable record
of accomplishments. For truly in the
end, our Fraternity has indeed nurtured
professionally, making it squarely-footed
in ascending the heights of prominence
among others. Topping all, Civic wise,is

called "Bayanihan
Festival
2008"
was held
at the Megabowl
of Zabeel
Park. The
word "Bayanihan"
means "spirit
of working
together"
was very
evident
with the
successful
holding
of the whole
day event
that provided
fun games,
parade,
cheering
presentation,
lantern,
chorale
and kids
ballroom
dance competitions
and entertainment
numbers
for more
than 15,000
expectators

in a transfer

while the

Alpha
Kappa Rho, Emirates Council also known
as AKP-UAE, Emirates Skeptron, UAE
Skeptron is a council of Alpha Kappa
Rho International humanitarian fraternity
and sorority a non profit organization
that is established to promote charity
and assistance to its members and
to the society. |
|
Like
the fraternities of today, it had
a ritual which was secret to all but
its members, as well as a secret motto,
grip, and password. This organization
soon became and has since remained
purely honorary, Alpha Kappa Rho is
one of the oldest brotherhood of a
social and literary character that
has had a continuous existence world
wide. |
|
Founded
at the University of Santo Tomas,
España Street, Manila, Philippines
on August 8, 1973, it is recognized
as the forerunner of the present system
of college fraternities. It has chartered
10,000 chapters. |

on September 23, 1958
in Okinawa, Japan. He
was raised by his nurturers
Mr. Gonzalo Pasaporte
Sr. and Mrs. Cirila
Gelera. Brod Jun Pasaporte’s
siblings include Gloria
Gelera Pasaporte, Grace
Gelera Pasaporte, Gladys
Gelera Pasaporte he
was the third of three
sisters who also joined
AKP sometime in 1983
under U.E. (University
of the East) caloocan
chapter. |

After
the completion of his
primary studies at St.
Joseph’s Academy
in 1971, Jun Pasaporte
enrolled at the University
of the East C.M. Recto
Manila, Philippines
for his secondary education
in 1972. |
|
He
tried to join as a neophyte
of The Skeptrons AKP
- ALPHA KAPPA RHO (AKRHO)
Intercollegiate Service
Fraternity and Sorority
on 1st week of August
1975 along with Noriel
Arcadio and the late
Rey Quitoriano same
as well from U.E. (University
of the East) Recto High
School. Persistently
went forward to the
stamping ground of AKRHO
at U.E. Student Canteen.
But, somehow was rejected
on the first attempt
since high school educatees
are barred to join college
fraternities at that
time. |

However
the officers and board
members of the AKP U.E.
(University of the East)
Chapter decided to consent
high school educatees
so as to attain with
the growing population
of the other fraternities
in U.E. (University
of the East) Recto campus
and also the MASS RECRUITMENT
has been approved. 1975

University), P.S.B.A.
(Philippine School of
Business Administration)
and N.C.B.A. (National

1976 the merging of
OMEGA Fraternity of
San Sebastian College
and ZETA UPSILON Fraternity
of U.E. (University
of the East) Recto with
The Skeptrons AKP -
ALPHA KAPPA RHO (AKRHO)
Intercollegiate Service
Fraternity and Sorority
mark the beginning of
the growth of ALPHA
KAPPA RHO. The population
of AKP commenced in
greater numbers, expanding
aggressively in massive
members welcomed and
much stronger than any
other fraternities in
the U-Belt (University
Belt) area. The word
AKRHO was established
and among those being
feared by rival fraternities. |

The
growth of the AKP in
1975 was because of
an eye for an eye and
a tooth for a tooth
with the coherent full
cooperation, strong
powers and determinations
of our brothers and
sisters of F.E.U. (Far
Eastern University),
P.S.B.A. (Philippine
School of Business Administration)
and N.C.B.A. (National
College of Buisiness
and Arts) and San Sebastian
College chapters with
the help of high schools

to find a good job or
to look for an opportunity
elsewhere, he instead
devoted his time to

Do
you know who Tao Kwang
is? |
|
Tao
Kwang is the Emperor
of China in the year
1830, it was at that
time that opium was
allowed entry in China.
The selling of opium
was tolerated by the
Emperor, either he was
afraid of the British
merchants or because
he made money. However,
in 1839 his 3 sons died
of overdose of opium.
He was so furious that
he threw more than 2
tons of opium to the
sea and attacked the
British merchants. This
was the start of the
opium war, howevere
since the Chinese are
almost all dependents
on opium they lost the
war and resulted to
the signing of the Treaty
of Nanking, which allowed
the British to continue
the opium trade, forced
the Chinese to pay for
the opuim that had been
thrown to the sea and
ceded Hongkong to the
British. |

What
is the moral lesson
of the story? |
|
Emperor
Tao Kwang may have died
a hundred years ago,
but his spirit to continue
to live in the lives
of many Filipinos. Filipino
public officials, and
ordinary men and women
who because of their
cowardice, greed for
money, apathy, passivity
and tolerance do not
do anything in the fight
against drugs. |

an international
humanitarian service
fraternal organization
that we must provide
opportunities
for our members
of different chapters
to learn more
about each other,
thus fostering
increased awareness
and understanding
of the diversity
within our own
fraternity and
the human community. |

We
live in a world
filled with a
wondrous diversity
of experiences,
opinions, physical
appearance, culture
and religion,
etc. One of the
challenges before
us is not only
to devise a way
to live in harmony
with people, who
differ from us,
but to celebrate
the diversity
and learn from
it. We can only
learn a limited
amount from those
who are like us
but there is a
fortune of new
knowledge to be
gained from those
who have a different
perspective to
our own. |

All
are seeking truth,
and there are
many roads leading
thereto. Truth
has many aspects,
but it remains
always and forever
one. We should
not allow difference
of opinion, or
diversity of thought
to separate us
from our fraternal
brothers or to
be the cause of
dispute, hatred
and strife in
our hearts. Rather,
we should search
diligently for
the truth and
make all men our

leaders but help them

the time for us to gather,
share moments, talk
